REVIEW: Cacharel Nemo

Notes: Hinoki, Betel Leaf, Incense, Cedarwood, Cardamom.

Pros: Great bottle, wonderful incense drydown!

Cons: Believe it or not, I can't think of any!

Longevity and sillage: Longevity is pretty good - sprayed it on at 2pm and it's still present now at 12:30am! Sillage is better than average, but not too loud!

Where can I buy it? $26.58 for 100ml edt spray at Scentiments.com

Reminds me of: Hmmm, first time I smelled it I thought, this could be Theorema for Men (not that poor excuse for a fragrance that actually IS Theorema for Men, but what I envision). Also reminds me of Joop Rococo.

Bottleworthy? Absolutely! And at that price...

The Bottom Line: Wonderful woods and incense fragrance with an almost creamy tonka/vanilla note that echoes throughout, though never gourmand or foody. Longlasting, amazing bottle, and great price. Though not my "favorite" scent, I'm surprised at how often I use it and how much I enjoy it. Another men's scent that I think ladies would enjoy just as much as us guys!

Rating (out of 10): 9

Pour L'Homme is mine. Such a shame its disappearing, I feel, but such is the way things go with perfume, I guess.

Katie - no matter how hard I try, I can find nothing pleasant about Pour L'Homme...sorry...Would you like my half-sed bottle? Say the word and it's yours!

I like the strange and mysterious Lou Lou.

My favourite Cacharel is NOA. I bought it the same day it was released in Toronto. I adored it and got compliments non-stop. Unfortunately I wore it during the two years my father was battling and lost to cancer. Although it smells amazing on me I can no longer even smell it from a distance without gut-wrenching sadness washing over me. Talk about the power of scent to evoke... Smell is my primary sense I think. Very much like my dog! :)

I went through a bottle of Lou Lou in the 70's, strange, I really can't remember it! Hmmmm does it still exist? This one sounds very intriguing, can't wait to try it! Thanks for telling us about it!

Rue - That's a shame, yet bittersweet, that you can no longer wear Noa...that's what new launches are for, huh!?!

lefay - that's probably my favorite Cacharel scent, as its linked to memories of a close friend during my high school years.

qwendy - Lou Lou does still exist and is still wonderful! And this one, Nemo, is incredible. It was a blind purchase that was shockingly good 6 years ago and I still adore it now!

I have to side with Katie - definitely Pour l'homme. And the hopefully immortal Anais Anais, although I always feel I should be blond and elfin and consort with unicorns to wear it.

I would like to re-try Nemo. I remember being disappointed when I smelled it upon it's release which was sad because the bottle is so fantastic.

dinazad - as to Anais Anais, I keep trying it thinking I should be able to wear it a so many people keep telling me that it's really about the leather drydown...but to my nose, it IS petals and elves and unicorns and that is just not me...

mark - you gotta try this again. It's not terribly complex, but it smells so...perfect!

There's leather in Anais Anais? Where? On me it is a one-note Easter lily. As far as Pour l'Homme.... no. However for a moment I thought you meant L'Homme by Roger et Gallet. That's real nice.

rue - I agree on both counts...
