BARGAIN OF THE WEEK: Paco Rabanne, La Nuit

Notes: Citrus, Basil, Rose, Oakmoss, Honeyed Woods, Leather, Patchouli.

1oz edt spray, retail price $30.00; Tuccini.com's price $8.25

Why should I buy it? A surprising and sexy leather chypre that is so rich I'm still shocked that it ever could have been released as a women's fragrance. Perhaps Rabanne needs to re-think this one and re-launch it! Incredibly deep with AMAZING longevity and sillage, this begins and ends with leather, and along the way facets of green herbs (basil), roses, honey and patchouli all glimmer in the warmth that is La Nuit! At not even $10 for a 30ml, you NEED this in your wardrobe if you are a leather lover or go for darker, richer chypres!

I love most everything leather and La Nuit has been on my wish-list since late last year, when I gave it a test run. On my skin, La Nuit is more floral, more fruity (thanks to a luscious plum note), and more girly (in a good way!) than most of my favorite leather scents.

For anyone with a serious leather habit, you should give La Nuit a try!

Thank you, Marlen, for the link to Tuccini.com. I have not heard of them before, but they have some great prices! La Nuit will soon be mine!

OK, Marlen. I ordered a couple of bottles based on your glowing review. Of course one is to be a gift for my mom (it's so cheap I can afford to be generous!) but if I don't like it...guess what you are getting for your birthday?

This one is most definitely a stunner. A super-striking gorgeous stunner. And an unbelievable bargain!

Wow, at that price, I can't not give it a try. The notes sound delightful, too.

Oh, I love this too. It has become more popular since Luca Turin wrote about it (he likened it to the smell of a horse wearing Tabu), but it still doesn't get the notice it should. An incredible perfume! Thanks for the link.

Colombina - it's amazing this wasn't more successful over a longer period of time and wasn't re-launched. It's brilliant.
