IMAGES: Why doesn't this work?

Aramis, ca 1986

This guy does NOT look like he wears Aramis...

Was this the attempt to revive a dated brand?

Marlen,

LOL! This must be one of THE best entries I have EVER read - ever!

Your post comes right after a couple of hourse playing with a picture... figuring out whether it really encapsulates what I want. Finding a visual language to translate a scent's character and vision behind it is,not entirely, but almost as hard as designing the fragrance.
If you are serious about it then you want a perfect match between your scent, your vision and a graphical illustration. Tricky. And in this particular example not solved, I guess.

Oh the world famous Marlen! ♥

My dad wore Aramis back in the 1980's! They were notorious for giving out umbrellas as a gift with purchase, we had a whole collection of them!

attreau, mark - u gotta admit that an umbrella is a great way to remind you of your favorite scent, unless you're like me and routinely lose one umbrella every month.
