Stitched through
this
cool floral/leather/fruit mixture, a dry, sharp wood that might
approach the
mustiness of a recently removed cork from a bottle of red wine…like
cedar,
with cured tobacco leaf. My idea is not so much to duplicate the tea itself (as that has already been attempted by various other houses) however, that is where my idea comes from.

My idea, creates a fragrance of composing parts that I do not feel makes the same mistake that is fatal for Versace’s Man; that is, having too many potent ingredients contradicting each other at once.

Components: (here shown in the simple manner of top notes and bottom notes which are meant to create a paradox)

Everblooming Jasmine – Tobacco
Vetiver – Atlas Cedar

Other than those, to add the rarity of the fragrance and to provide more subtle depth, I believe that Yin Zhen (aka white or silver needle) tea would be an appropriate edition.

In the top, the delicate yet fragrant scent of jasmine is contrasted by the smell of tobacco (think Versace Dreamer for the type of tobacco). The jasmine is the focus with tobacco playing a back up role. During the dry down, the vetiver (along the line of vetiver extraordinaire in terms of earthy/raunchy potency) becomes the prominent note while the crisp, lightness of the cedar (here think of the cedar found in CdG’s Kyoto) rounds it off and adds another dimension to the fragrance. The result, a fragrance that is both seemingly anarchic and balanced. A fragrant interpretation of Ying Yang.Justinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21382063.post-1146710888409139422006-05-03T22:48:00.000-04:002006-05-03T22:48:00.000-04:00Denstyle - nice job! It should explore the violet note on an aromatic (herbal) base (with immortelle) without its classical creamy sweet or woody notes. The top notes should be sharp, aldehydic, green evolving into a rich floral (violet, cassie absolute) with spices and black truffle. Imagine a violet rain with delicate flowers falling into a spiky dry shrub. The fragrance would express the contrast between delicacy and hardness.

Aldehydes, folione, geranium
Ionones and methyl ionones, violiff, black truffle accord, spice basket (cardamom, nutmeg), cassie
Helycrissum, IBQ, amber notes, grisalva, oudh

Champaca

Jonquille
The fragrance should explore the dry side of the opulent flower on a slightly leather base. The intoxicating flower with saffron notes and aldehydes (quite mettalic) will explode into a multi sided flower accord were the powderiness becomes a spicy breazy air. The final notes are a dry leather accord with green (vegetable) spots and a mushroom accent.

Aldehydes, saffron, ginger, camomille
Jonquille, jasmin, Hedione, toscanol, cetonal, helional
Leather, civet, mushroom, oakmoss, pyralone

Kewda

Imagine a green honey flowing from an exotic tree retaing on in its sticky way little flowers falling into a rainy day. The fragrance should explore the extreme green and sharp note of the kewda contrasting with its honey - honeysuckle note. The green note will be powerfull, sharp, spicy (white pepper, ginger, cardamom) evolving into a hyacinth (rather bitter than creamy) and finally into a indolic honey base with costus and "skin" odor.

Folione, glycolierral, vandor, white pepper, ginger,
Hyacinth base, Jasmin, freesia accord, traces of rose oxide + damascone
Honey base, iris, costus, velvione, myrrhaOctavianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18342689176413052674noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21382063.post-1146567824555915102006-05-02T07:03:00.000-04:002006-05-02T07:03:00.000-04:00My ideal TDC fragrance would be VIBURNUM...I am no...My ideal TDC fragrance would be VIBURNUM...I am not sure if you can capture the scent of them. The Viburnum in my garden is just bursting into bloom, and the snowball shaped flowers smell wonderful, less sweet than orange blossom and heavier somehow.

Notes (linear fragrance - not pyramid)

Viburnum
Green wood
"rain" accord
something sharp, pepper?
iris root
earth note

Nice to think of your fantasy fragrance!
